濵 亜希子（はま あきこ）
AKIKO:オーナー、powwowEnglishカウンセラー、自宅レッスン・出張レッスン担当講師
Owner, lesson counselor, home teacher, after school teacher for local kids, teacher for adult primary English learners.
17歳でカナダ・アルバータ州ヒントンに留学し、公立高校へ1年間通いました。
When I was 17 years old, I stayed in Hinton, Alberta, Canada, as an exchange student for 1 whole school year and commuted to the local public Harry Collinge High School.
音楽の授業では吹奏楽のパーカッション、ジャズバンドのピアノを担当し、練習した曲は今でも心に残っています。
I took music class and was in a big band for percussion, and a Jazz band as a piano player. I still remember some songs we played at both bands.
’86、ブリティッシュコロンビア州バンクーバーEXPOにバンドで参加。EXPOのJapanese pavilion 他各国のpavilionを練り歩き堪能しました✨✨
In ’86, I went to the EXPO ’86 held in Vancouver, BC ,to play in the big band. I enjoyed walking around EXPO site, especially looking in Japanese pavilion and some other countries’ ones.
その後帰国し北星大学英文科で中学校・高校英語講師の資格を取得し卒業。
After I came back to Japan, I entered Hokusei College English Literature Course. I graduated there with teacher’s license for junior high and high school.
JALデータ通信(後にJALインフォテック)営業業務課で3年半勤務し結婚退社。
After graduating college, I belonged to the company JAL Data Communication( later JAL Infotech) for 3 and a half year. I retired there for getting married.
子供は女の子が１人。彼女とも二度カナダを訪れています。
I have a daughter, who also visited Canada twice.
その後自分で出来ることを考えた結果、J-Shine小学校英語指導者認定資格を取得。
As a result of thinking about what I can do afterward, I gained the license for elementary school kids teaching, J-Shine.
地元の英会話教室に９年間と、NPO団体主催の英語活動講師として８年(こちらは現在進行中)講師として活動を行い、その他自宅や出張レッスンもおこなっております。
I had worked at the small private local English school to teach elementary school kids , junior high school kids and primary leveled adults for 9 years. In the same time, I have been working at 3 areas, as a J-Shine teacher for NPO managed “After School English” for 8 years. Besides, I teach kids and adults English at home and visit to teach as a home teacher.
プライベートでは大人(初級)英会話レッスンや海外旅行前の短期集中レッスンを対面やオンラインでおこなっています。また、中高生には教科書に沿った文法英語、また英語研修や短期留学前の直前レッスンを受け持っています。
At my home and visiting students, I offer them primary leveled conversation lessons or short- term focus lessons before their tours abroad. For junior high school students, I teach for school tests along school textbooks. I also do preparatory lessons for students who are going to English training course abroad, or short- term study abroad.

I really love to challenge new things! I am a kind who believe in the way of thinking,” global brotherhood” (lol)
趣味は車の運転。34歳まではオートバイを所持していました。長距離ドライブも好きです。
I love driving. No driving, no life! I used to have my own motorcycle until I was 34 years old. I also like long- distance driving.
音楽はジャンルを問わず聴きます。今まで常に誰かしらの影響を受け、色々なアーティスト・ジャンルにハマってきました。ジャズ、クラッシックも。
I love music. It doesn’t matter new or old, Japan pops or US, UK pops, Jazz or classical music. I always got some influenced from somebody else like parents, friends and my daughter.
以前は洋楽ばかりだったが、今は邦楽もボカロやアニソンも聴きます。
In my teenage, I mostly listened to US or UK pops and rock. Now I listen to Japan pops, Vocaloid and anime songs.
6歳～13年間ピアノを習っていました。小学生のときは、曲に伴奏を適当につけて弾くのが得意でした。
I had learned piano for 13 years since I was 6 years old.When I was an elementary school kid, I was good at playing the piano and organ to play popular songs with my original accompaniment without music scores.
カナダでも音楽室のピアノで毎日練習させてもらい、折々にピアノを披露してはホストマザーが喜んでくれたのが思い出です。
I was allowed to practice piano in the music room in Harry Collinge High school almost every after school. Sometimes I had a chance to play the piano in front of my host mother and it is a good memory that she looked happy for that.
スポーツの中ではスキーが一番得意です。
My only sport is skiing. I am good at it.
一時期はひとシーズン30回ほどスキー場に出掛けていたほどです！
I used to go skiing more than 30 times in a season!

日本では、20年間以上講師のお仕事をしていて、北海道にたどり着いてからは大きな英会話スクールにも小さなスクールにも働くご縁がありました。
札幌においては幸運にも、レストランや他の業種での経験も得ることが出来ました。
主に大人に会話を教えておりますが、中学生高校生に英検、TOEIC、TOEFL対策もレッスンいたします。
Experience:I’ve been teaching in Japan for over twenty years and been fortunate to work for both large and small English conversation schools since arriving in Hokkaido.
In Sapporo I have also been lucky to have experience working in a restaurant and other types of businesses.
Although I mainly teach adults, I also teach Junior High and High School students, EIKEN, TOEIC and TOEFL as well.
興味:料理と読書が好きです。
本は主にノンフィクション、特に歴史物や歴史小説を好んで読みます。
Interests:I love cooking and reading. I mainly read nonfiction books, in particular history and historical fiction.
英語の講師というお仕事は、私にとても多くの素晴らしい人たちとの出会いをもたらしてくれましたし、日本のことや日本の文化をとてもたくさん学ばせてくれたと思っています。
皆さんに英語を学ぶお手伝いをさせていただき、皆さんにもカナダについて、またカナダの文化について学んでいただけるとよいなと思います。
より多くの方々との出会いを楽しみに、一緒に英語を話すことを大いにエンジョイします。
Teaching English has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people and learn so much about Japan and its culture.
I hope that I can also help others learn English and about Canada and its culture too.
I really look forward to meeting more people and enjoy speaking English together.

私の家族と私は、カナダの学校丸１年分の期間ホストファミリーとしてAkikoを受け入れました。
この素晴らしいAkikoとの出会いの経験を経て、子育てを経験したのちに、中国・日本から他の留学生をホストファミリーとして受け入れました。
In 1985 my family and I hosted Akiko Sasaki (now Hama) for 1 full Canadian School year.
This awesome experience with Akiko encouraged me, after I had my own children, to host other students from China, and also Japan.
英語を母国語としない国々からの留学生を受け入れながら、英語とは習得が容易な言語ではないんだなと気付かされました。
I follow these students on Facebook or Instagram and keep in touch with them.
ホストファミリーを引き受けたことで、母国であるカナダを彼らの視線から見る手助けをするうちに、カナダへの理解愛着が深まりました！
Hosting these students also helps me to see my country in their eyes, and it makes me appreciate Canada a lot!
私が望むことは、AkikoとChrisと共にみなさんに役立つパウワウイングリッシュを育て、オンラインレッスンでみなさんにティーチングすることにより、多くの人が英語という言語を学び理解するお手伝いをすることです。
I hope to help more people learn and understand our English language by teaching online and working with Akiko and Chris to develop a system that works for everybody.
